Well the summer is finally here. With it comes more outdoor activities, camping, sports, sunburns, injuries, bug bites.
Here’s a list of the 5 most used remedies, to help you enjoy your summer months to the fullest!
- Calendula cream - comes in both cream and gel form. Calendula is great for cuts, scrapes, burns. It can be very soothing to a mild sunburn. It can help remove the sting, and decrease recovery time. Key is to be sure to clean the wound really well before using this cream. (Note: you can also use calendula remedies, in about a 30ch for the same ailments, I just find especially for the burn the gel is more comforting)
- Apis – You can find this in both pill or cream form. Great for bug bites and stings that are red and swollen. The cream will often contain Ledum as well, which is can also be found in pill form and when taken internally will help to prevent tetanus for deeper injuries.
- Arnica – If the only thing you ever carry with you is arnica, you will never go wrong. Arnica can be given for any bumps, bruises, traumatic injuries/shock, and definately any head injury. You can give it alone or on the way to the hospital for more serious injuries. I would recommend a 200ch for minor injuries, and at least a 1m for major ones.
- Arsenicum – If you know this remedy you may be thinking it seems like the wrong time of year to be concerned with vomiting. However food poisoning can be more of an issue in the summer, and it’s the last thing you want to worry about on a camping trip. Think of arsenicu for any vomiting accompanied by diarrhea, especially if the supecte cause is food poisioning. Even if not the exactly right remedy it can give you some relief. 200ch
- Belladonna – think of this for any high fevers, for sunstroke, and for infections that are red throbbing.
As with all homeopathic remedies, remember ‘Less is NOT more’. You only need a minimum of the remedy for it to work, and once it is working stop taking it and allow the body to continue the healing on its own.
